A multi-agency action group forms after a ROC Conversation. People who attend a ROC Conversation event are given the opportunity to join. Sometimes the action group forms sub groups to address particular issues like; communication, mental health, youth empowerment and loneliness.
This year we have already formed new groups in Enniskillen, Ballybeen, Holme Slack, Avenham, Reading and Rugby. All 6 are busy forming local action plans to respond to local needs.
One popular idea is to host a networking lunch or coffee morning to bring the community together to find out what’s going on.
They are doing just that in Ellesmere Port.
We held a ROC Conversation there in January 2020. Not long afterwards lockdown began but despite restrictions the action group have got a number of projects off the ground as well as supporting existing projects. This includes conducting a youth survey at the local
Catholic High School.
We have also been working with Active Cheshire to help complete their survey to encourage adults into keeping active through sport.
The Rev Jackie Bellfield leads the EP action group and we have organised a networking lunch to celebrate all the good work which is going on.
The networking event takes place on July 14th. Could this work in your community?
