Carlisle Youth Zone

Carlisle Youth Zone’s mission is to provide the young people of Carlisle with somewhere to go, someone to talk to, something to do and somewhere to belong.

They’ve been delivering the COACH mentoring scheme since August 2014 and in that time they’ve helped more than 100 young people.

Volunteers support and advise young people who have behavioural problems, confidence issues or issues at home or school on a 1-2-1 basis for at least 1 hour each week.

Over 40 volunteers have been trained and have worked over 1500 hours since the start of the programme. They’ve even had some professional football players sign up to be volunteer mentors.

With ROC having partnered with COACH to deliver the mentoring programme across the UK it was so encouraging meet and discuss our joint ethos of partnership working and community building.

We can’t wait to see how this fantastic work continues to grow across Carlisle as young people continue to flourish through one to one mentoring.
