With just a week to go until the closing date for GO Make A Difference 2017, excitement is building at ROC HQ. We’ve waited since the launch in May to see the videos of what young people from all over the UK have been doing in their communities.
We’ve judges from ROC, Urban Saints, CPA and YFC standing by to view the videos and the group who is judged to have ‘made the biggest impact in their local community’, will be presented with the ‘Go Make A Difference’ trophy and a prize of a £1000.
We know there are groups that are gardening, others that are running ‘ncounter activities’, still more who are having a ‘Lark in the Park’. A large group is making a big impact clearing and tidying the community whilst another group is educating young people about the dangers of drugs. Food seems to play a significant part in many of the projects – one group is ‘hungry for change’ running an exciting initiative to support young people provide meals for the hungry. Another group is providing lunch for disabled local people as the start of a permanent weekly service whilst another group is providing a meal for a family reunion where the family haven’t met each other for 65 years. With all this – and plenty more – going on, you can perhaps see why we’re getting excited to watch the videos.
If you’re inspired by what young people are doing and you are really quick, there’s just time for your group to enter GO Make A Difference!
We know that week by week across the UK, groups of young people make a big difference in the local community – so show us on video what your group are doing before 1st September and you could be the first ever winners of GO Make A Difference.
