“The Plymouth project of ROC Family Mentoring got off the ground on Saturday August 15th with the first 11 volunteer mentors coming to be trained.
This was led by the National Development manager for ROC Family Mentoring, Paul Wilson. The programme is to help address Phase 2 of the national ‘Troubled Families’ agenda.
Our trainees were treated to a mixture of Paul’s knowledge and experience of the mentoring process and some lively practical exercises to ram home a point.
The training continues this Saturday with a range of experts giving us an overview of the difficulties these families face including; Debt, drugs, domestic violence, school absenteeism and so on.
What a ‘Kingdom’ result if by God’s grace, these families are given hope to excite and a purpose to fulfil.”

We are delighted that Chris Clewer is the Plymouth ROC Family Mentoring Coordinator. The scheme has got off to a great start and has gained benefit and learning from the pilot project which has been running in Littlehampton, Sussex.
We are also grateful to Sarah Jeffrey, lead Chaplain with Devon and Cornwall Police, who has been instrumental in finding the funding to start the project and the support of local agencies.
ROC Family Mentoring is a project we hope to offer to other locations.
