On Monday 2nd June, ROC held an open evening for the launch of the ROC Family Mentoring project in Burgess Hill.
The ROC Family Mentors Project which is looking to launch in mid-Sussex in the autumn, will be the second scheme in Sussex, the first having just launched in the Bognor Regis and Littlehampton areas.
The open evening, held at Gateway Baptist Church in Burgess Hill, was well supported by local churches with people keen to hear how they can better support families in their area.
We were delighted that Julie Tuppen from West Sussex County Council’s ‘Think Family Team’ was able to join us and hear first-hand from her of the local authority’s support for the ROC scheme.
Paul Wilson ROC Project Development Manager for the South East said,
‘It was a great evening and we were delighted with the number of people who came along. There are so many families in need of help, and this scheme is such a simple and practical way for people to get involved and support local families.’
