ROC in Bexhill

ROC in Bexhill

St Augustine's Church, BexhillOn Tuesday 26th May, ROC’ s Project  Development Manager in the South East, Paul Wilson spoke at a Bexhill Churches Together event at St Augustine’s Church in Bexhill in East Sussex. The meeting was arranged as a follow up to a previous meeting Paul had with representatives from Sussex Police and Bexhill Town Council who had expressed a desire to explore a formal partnership with ROC in the town.

Bexhill is a lovely sea side town with many notable landmarks not least the De La Warr Pavilion, built in 1935, giving wonderful views out to sea, but like many other seaside towns, has its challenges. Paul said ‘We are delighted to have this opportunity to explore a formal partnership with churches in Bexhill who are already doing great things. We are keen to see how we can help them work more closely in partnership with the agencies in Bexhill to build on these things and meet some of the other identified needs in the town.’

Paul gave a presentation to the church leaders on ROC and shared about the opportunities for a number of ROC projects from Restorative Justice, to a potential ROC Centre and ROC Cafe. The evening went really well and was an important step forward in looking to launch ROC in Bexhill. Further meetings are planned to take things forward.
