ROC making strides in Eastbourne

After the huge successes of the ROC Seaside Advice Centre in Eastbourne we’re pleased to hear that the ROC Eastbourne team now have plans for a second project this time in Hampden Park.

Over the past few months ROC Eastbourne have been investigating possible venues for a new project. The aim of this project is to work alongsaide local groups and agencies to provide a service that benefits residents in Hampden Park.

It’s wonderful news to hear that Foodbank have come on board and have commenced with a food voucher redemption point at the Hampden Park Community Centre – initially for one afternoon a week. The first session was held last Wednesday 23rd April 2.00pm to 3.30pm.

Hampden Park Community Centre is the only centre offering voucher redemptions in the afternoon and if successful the number of sessions will be increased.

The ROC Eastbourne team are also in a position to offer some computer classes and are currently looking into the timing of these. If you are interested in getting involved with this project feel free to get in touch with the team here.

Conversations are also underway to find ways to support and supplement the youth work already taking place at the Centre. The possibilities are looking good and there will be plenty of opportunity for volunteer help!
