In the UK, around 20 young people commit suicide every year due to bullying and 1 in 3 children who are being bullied become truant from school. The Anti-Bullying Alliance each year coordinates the Anti-Bullying Week to shine a spotlight on bullying and encourages children, teachers and parents to take action against bullying throughout the year. The theme for this years Anti-Bullying Week is ‘Power for Good’.
To help fundraise for this cause, and to raise awareness on the issue of bullying, our very own Rebecca Green will be taking on an Ironman Challenge on the 23rd July. To complete the challenge, Rebecca will have to overcome her fear of wild swimming (2.4 miles), before cycling 112 miles followed by a 26 mile marathon run.
