ROC was privileged to be at Spring Harvest for two weeks, Minehead and Skegness, this year! For those who don’t know Spring Harvest it is a Christian festival which attracts many thousands and happens over the Easter period at Butlin’s and the Harrogate convention centre.
We had ROC teams running our stand in the exhibition Debra was also part of the speaking team and event leadership team.
The theme was ‘Unlimited when you pray’! At first, you are tempted to wonder how you can fill a whole week with one single theme, prayer. As the weeks unfolded we were looking at prayer from so many different perspectives and we realised how vast this subject truly is. We explored private prayer, unlimited access. Corporate prayer, unlimited connected and the unlimited potential we all have in prayer.
Personal highlights for us included having the Deputy Chief Constable of Devon and Cornwall Paul Netherton with us. Paul is also the Chair of the Christian Police Association and the national Police lead for Brexit.
It was fascinating hearing his perspective on a whole range of issues. He appealed to us that despite differences in the way we may have voted we should strive for unity and harmony for the sake of our nation at this time.
We also had an interview with Pastor Tobi from SPAC Nation church in London and he and Paul shared their views about knife crime.
Tobi is seeing huge numbers of ex-offenders join his church.
There are so many great things about Spring Harvest! It’s fantastic being able to meet with thousands of people from lots of different churches across the UK and hear exciting stories about what is happening in communities.
We can’t wait for next year! Bookings open on June 26th www.springharvest.org
